How did you meet?

Meghan: To be honest, I'm not sure haha. I think our first conversation was in STC during the spring semester for our U2 year in pharmacy school. Mike and his friends were in a break room on the second floor, and I came over to ask if they could watch my stuff while she went to Starbucks. We didn't start dating until the summer of our P2 year when we shared an apartment with two other people. 

Mike: I remember like it was just yesterday.

... What did we have for dinner again?

Who made the first move?

Meghan: Mike heehee

Mike: I did. I opened with pawn to D4, and ended with a checkmate for her heart.

What first attracted you to each other?

Meghan: I'm an acts-of-service girlie. I was first attracted to Mike when he offered to help me with everything... Then came his cheesy dad jokes and his goofy smile. He always has a way of making me smile no matter what happens.

Mike: We have very different lifestyles and viewpoints. With this, we add unique ingredients into each other's lives. She contributes sugar, spice, and everything nice. I add protein. Together, we find a way to make the most of each day and of each other. We've turned an unplanned, unforeseen circumstance and found a way to make it exciting. We constantly push each other to be better than we were before. 

What is your favorite memory with each other?

Meghan: Every memory is my favorite memory :) 

Mike: We have an entire library of special moments. Some of these moments were spent in the campus conference rooms late at night studying for the next PnT exam. In other moments, we've achieved major milestones in our careers. We have planted our roots with our first home purchase and also took flight and travelled to Japan. With a wide range of experiences, one of my favorite memories is bringing home Chowder for the first time and seeing how happy we make each other. 

What is your favorite way of spending time together?

Meghan: The best part of the day is when we're both relaxing in bed before we go to sleep. We're either scrolling on our phones and showing each other funny memes/videos, or talking about what's going on in our heads.

Mike: As much as I enjoy the fruits of Meghan's labor in her well laid out plans and trips, my favorite way to spend time is through daily errands. We find ways to make everyday chores like folding laundry, cleaning, and commuting fun.  

How did you get engaged?

Meghan: We took a trip to Ohio on April 8th, 2024 to catch the solar eclipse with my brother, Alex, and a couple of our friends. While we were watching the moon eclipse the sun, Mike bent down on one knee and called out my name. I didn't turn around at first, but I'm glad I did!

Mike: Ohio. 4/8/2024. Total solar eclipse. Amongst friends and family, I proposed under the stars, The moon had covered the sun in a total eclipse, highlighting the sun's corona. We captured this special moment with a promise.

Why did you decide on a destination wedding?

Meghan: For an experience that everyone can remember :)

Mike: We want to capture experiences and explore what the world has to offer through travel. What better way to start this new chapter than to invite our close friends and family along for the ride.
